The investigative report by NTV journalist Dennis Okari that uncovered how millions may have been swindled by state officials through private companies will now be removed from social media.
This is after the High Court in Nairobi directed the Nation Media Group (NMG) to pull down the story dubbed ‘COVID-19 millionaires’ from all its social media platforms pending hearing and determination of a case filed by one of the companies mentioned in the exposé.
Megascope Limited moved to court listing NMG and journalist Dennis Okari as having linked them to the multi-billion shillings scandal at the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA).
In the NTV story, the company was mentioned as having been asked by KEMSA to clear medical supplies donated by Chinese billionaire Jac Ma after they arrived at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
