The Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has explained the delay in purchase of tokens experienced countrywide.

In a statement on Thursday, March 3, 2022, Kenya Power revealed that the company is experiencing technical hitches citing complaints from several members of the public.

The power supplier announced that the services will resume once the hitch is fixed.

"We would like to inform our customers that we are experiencing a technical hitch which is affecting prepaid token generation and postpaid bill payment.

"Our team has identified the issue, and restoration of normal services is currently in progress so that customers can access the affected platforms soon," the statement read in part.

Kenya Power further apologised to members of the public for the inconvenience caused during this period.

This comes amid complaints by several Kenyans who took to social media to complain about the delay in the purchase of tokens.

They called upon KPLC to resolve the issue as they look to go about their business and daily activities, some of which have been affected.
