President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday, March 26, held a meeting with the Kikuyu council of elders at State House.
In the meeting, Kenyatta is said to have explained in detail the reasons behind his fallout with his deputy William Ruto.
The Head of State attributed his fallout with his deputy to what he termed Ruto's raw hunger for power, impatience, and sabotaging government processes.
In a report by Citizen TV, Kenyatta is said to have told the elders that Ruto was undercutting him and scheming for his ouster by inciting Jubilee MPs to rebel.
The Head of State said that he reached out to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to stabilize the Government.

The President mentioned that Ruto was against the handshake with his main focus on the 2022 succession race.
Kenyatta mobilized the elders to support Odinga's candidacy while urging smaller parties to work with Jubilee to secure majority seats in the August election.
Odinga is the presidential candidate for Azimio la Umoja which is being backed by the Head of State and Jubilee party.
At the same time, DP Ruto was on March 15 endorsed as the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) presidential candidate ahead of the August polls.
Ruto recently told President Kenyatta to step aside and let him face off with Odinga fair and square.
“I have tried to have a go at Raila but I cannot have a fair battle with him because he is hiding behind the President.
“So I am asking the President to step aside and let me battle it out with Raila since he has made it clear he will not stand by me,” said the DP.
