Four prisoners who had been admitted in hospital with Covid-19 escaped.
According to reports, the four prisoners escaped from a hospital in Lodwar, Turkana County where they had been isolated after contracting COVID-19.
Confirming the incident, Turkana County Health CEC Jane Ajele said the four escapees were among 28 inmates who were in isolation after they got infected with the disease.
Police launched a manhunt for the four inmates believed to have escaped after cutting through a window of the hospital.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday the Ministry of Health indicated that the country is on the right track in combating the COVID-19 pandemic, noting that all signs point out that the infection curve has been flattened.
Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said over the last month, the country has recorded a positivity rate of below 5% which according to the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines points at a flattening curve.
He also cautioned that any laxity in adhering to the stimulated COVID-19 containment measures could revert the gains made in combating the disease which has claimed over 600 lives in Kenya.
