He was working in the steel boiler section.
Otieno's task was to feed metal pieces through a rolling mill into a blazing furnace.
It is while feeding the pieces, on Friday, March 25, when his gloves got stuck on the metals, making the mills pull him onto the machine that crushed him into pieces before dropping him into the furnace.
His arms and head were the first to be crushed.
His liquefied body got mixed up with the melted steel, leaving only countable bone particles at its base.
The family of Otieno is said to have been offered Sh7,000 monthly stipend as compensation for a period of five years.
The offer has elicited sharp reactions among Kenyans who deemed it unworthy.
The Sh7,000 is a third of the Sh21,000 net monthly salary he was receiving.
