Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has responded to claims that he was in talks with the Azimio One Kenya coalition.

The Tujibebe Wakenya party leader William Kabogo has responded to claims that he was engaging with the Azimio One Kenya Alliance in a bid to join the outfit.

Taking it to his official Facebook page on Thursday, April 14, the former Kiambu governor denied the claims, terming them fake.

Kabogo shared a poster that had gone viral on social media indicating that he was in talks with Azimio and he captioned it: "Fake as always, mtado?"

His remarks come after his Tujibebe Wakenya Party signed a coalition agreement with the Kenya Kwanza Alliance on April 12.

The party was among 12 parties that joined the Deputy President William Ruto-led outfit at an event in Ngong Racecourse.

"The alliance we put together today is the alliance of the free and willing. The other side have the alliance of the intimidated, blackmailed and coerced," Ruto said during the event.

Kabogo earlier said that secrets in the Raila Odinga-led Azimio had forced him to decamp to the DP's side.

The former Kiambu County boss said that he was left in the dark in the discussions between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila on the plan for the Mt. Kenya region.

Before signing the agreement with Kenya Kwanza, Kabogo had declared his intention to run for the Kiambu gubernatorial seat in the upcoming August polls.
