Abdullahi said Raila will be crushed without Kalonzo in the ballot

Raila Odinga has no option other than to pick Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka as his running mate, lawy Ahmednasir Mohamed now says.

Through a statement on his social media sites, the renowned city lawyer opined that it will be hard for Raila to win elections without Kalonzo's support and candidature.

In particular, Ahmednasir said Raila cannot gamble with Musyoka's candidature, adding that if he doesn't pick him for the position, he will lose the over 2 million Ukambani votes and will be crushed at the ballot.

"Hon Raila has NO OPTION but have Kalonzo Musyoka SC as his running mate...of course, they have mutual antipathy...but where will Hon Raila go without Musyoka? If he doesn't pick him... he will be crushed..." read Ahmednasir's statement.

The Ruto allied lawyer had earlier warned the registrar of political parties Anne Nderitu against any attempts to block parties who signed an agreement with Azimio from leaving the coalition.

According to Ahmednasir, Ms. Nderitu has been misleading the nation that the parties who signed the agreement with Raila's Azimio coalition are committed to the agreement and will not be allowed to move out until after one year.

He said all the parties who feel shortchanged in the Azimio agreement are free to walk out and that nothing binds them to the camp constitutionally.

"The Registrar of Political Parties Ms. Ann Nderitu MUST STOP misleading us on behalf of JUBILEE by FALSELY stating that constituent parties in azimio cannot walk out of the coalition. They can, during the day & at night. Forced association is EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED in our constitution," he added.

This comes at a time when Nderitu had dealt a blow to Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi and Dr. Aflred Mutua's request to have their PAA and MCC parties exit Azimio.

In a response letter to PAA, Nderitu said that her office has no mandate to degazette PAA from Azimio la Umoja- One Kenya Alliance unless due process is followed.

The registrar said PAA and Mutua's MCC parties had met all the conditions and provided all the prerequisite documents to affirm their commitment to the coalition.
