Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has threatened to ditch Kenya Kwanza after the revelation of the coalition power sharing deal was made public.
Speaking during a rally in Kiambu County on Thursday, May 12, Kabogo disclosed that he called Deputy President Wiliam Ruto to explain more about the sharing of resources.
The Tujibebe Wakenya party leader noted that in the coalition agreement deposited at the register of political parties, there is no detail of how Mt Kenya will benefit from DP Ruto's administration.
He noted that the interests of UDA, ANC, and Ford Kenya were well captured in the agreement but not the interests of Mt Kenya.
"I want to send a message. I have seen the coalition agreement between UDA, Ford Kenya, and ANC. When I met the deputy president in Dubai, I told him I don't want anything from his government. The only thing I want is for you to share resources based on the population to ensure the Mt Kenya region gets its fair share of the government revenue.

"I didn't see that in the coalition agreement. If that is not rectified to capture the interest of the people living in Mt Kenya then we will have to leave," he stated.

The power-sharing document was drawn by Tharaka Nithi Senator Prof. Kithure Kindiki before it was deposited with the Registrar of Political Parties on Sunday night to beat the deadline.
According to the coalition agreement, the Kenya Kwanza alliance is made of three founding members including Musalia Mudavadi's ANC, Moses Wetang'ula's Ford Kenya, DP's UDA, and other parties.
The presidential post and that of the deputy president have been reserved for William Ruto's UDA party. Whereas the running mate post has gone to the UDA, it is reported to have been categorically reserved for the Mt Kenya region.
Mudavadi will land a lucrative position of the Prime Cabinet Secretary if Ruto wins the August 9, general elections and forms government.
The agreement has also reserved the post of The National Assembly Speaker to Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and his Ford Kenya party.
Musalia and Mudavadi have also been promised a 30% share of Ruto's government, that is appointments in all ministries and government parastatals.
The two Western Kenya leaders are in return, required to get Ruto 70% of the votes from the five counties of Western Kenya.
