President Uhuru Kenyatta has promised the National Youth Service (NYS) graduates that his administration will help them secure jobs in the upcoming World Cup tournament in Qatar.
Speaking on Friday, June 10, during the pass-out ceremony of 9,464 recruits at Gilgil College in Nakuru County, the President said he was hopeful that a huge number of the graduates will secure the jobs in the FIFA competition.
The Head of State further said that his government had already placed 2,649 graduates in employment with the Kenya Defence Forces and National Police Service already recruited some.
"We are very hopeful that as the World Cup is coming, a good number of you will hopefully also be able to get jobs in Qatar during that period," the President stated.

President Kenyatta further congratulated the 9,464 graduates for their resilience in the rigorous 6-month training.
He urged them to use the skills and values they had gained during the training to brighten their futures.
“Congratulations and I trust that you will take the skills, practices, attitudes as well as the values that you have gathered from your training and use them to forge a brighter future for yourselves," the President said.
The Head of State affirmed that the NYS intake had increased since the Jubilee government took over, with over 130,000 youths having already graduated from the service since 2013.
