Deputy President William Ruto is on Saturday, July 9, (today) expected to start a two-day tour of his Rift Valley backyard.
Ruto together with a section of his Kenya Kwanza team is expected to pitch camp in Turkana county on Saturday and Sunday as he looks forward to wrestling the county away from Raila Odinga's grip.
He will be accompanied by the county's incumbent Governor Josphat Nanok, together with all UDA aspirants in the county.
Ruto will start his campaigns at Morulem, Lokichar, Turkwel, Kaikor, Lokichoggio and end the day at Lodwar town where he will hold a mega rally
On the other hand, Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Presidential candidate Raila Odinga is leaving nothing to chance as far as solidifying his former strongholds is concerned.

Raila was accompanied by his running mate Martha Karua, Azimio secretary-general Junet Mohamed, former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth, Governors Hassan Joho (Mombasa), and Wycliffe Oparanya (Kakamega).
Western Kenya region, which has slightly over 2 million votes remains one of the hotcake regions in the oncoming general elections with the two leading candidates already having a nearly equal share of the region's votes according to most of the recently released opinion polls.
