Deputy President William Ruto together with his running mate Rigathi Gachagua have arrived at Nyayo stadium for prayers.
The two attended the Kenya Destiny Prayer Summit, which was organized by pastors and bishops from across different denominations to pray for Ruto and his running mate ahead of the August 9, 2022, general elections.
After kneeling down for prayers, Rigathi and Ruto were both gifted with bibles, an assurance the men of the cloth said is a clear indication that they are going to overcome their battles in a bid to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in August.
"Not that we are calling you a preacher though we know you are one, the cross and the bible should be there to remind you that no matter the battle, there will always be a victory. This is a sign of assurance that you will overcome all your battles," stated one of the bishops as he handed over a bible to Ruto and Rigathi.

At the same time, the two handed over their Kenya Kwanza manifesto plan to the pastors for prayers.
This comes at a time when a section of church leaders has endorsed William Ruto's presidential bid.
Under the auspices of the Federation of Evangelical and Indigenous Churches of Kenya (FEICCK), the 17 bishops endorsed Ruto's bid at a function in Nairobi in May.
"We shall go to all our churches and persuade our fellow Christians to support William Ruto as the fifth President of the Republic of Kenya," stated Bishop Samuel Njiri, chairman of the Federation.
Ruto is later in the day, expected to proceed to Udungu grounds in Lang’ata Constituency for Kenya Kwanza campaigns. He will also tour Banana Hilltown, Kiambaa Constituency before concluding his rallies at Githurai later in the evening.
Raila and his running mate Martha Karua will also be camping in Nairobi city as the look for votes intensifies.
The two will take their campaigns to Dagoretti South, North, Westlands, and later Kamukunji.
