Hours after a gunshots were fired at a tallying center in Eldas Constituency, Nairobi Leo has established that no voting is taking place in the area.
Various polling centers remained shut by the time of going to press as disappointed voters pitched tents at the stations hoping the voting exercise would begin.
"It's a normal day here in Eldas, nothing is going on... With the tension and standoff, there is nothing that can go on. We can only hope and pray that an amicable solution is found so that this very important national exercise starts," an official who sought anonymity told a local publication.
This writer has established that the delay in voting was occasioned by a standoff that erupted a CDF hall at Eldas on Monday evening.
During the standoff, several gun shots were fired as people scampered for safety.
