Wajackoyah was reportedly told to come later to vote. Of the four presidential candidates, Wajackoyah is the only candidate yet to vote.

The issue of Kiems kit failing to identify voters has been replicated in various areas across the country.

Failure of the KIEMs kits was reported in several other polling stations in Matungu constituency.

Voting was delayed for over four hours in Namulungu, Mirere, Namanga and Khalaba polling centres over the failure of the KIEMs kits.

Anxious voters engaged the election officials in bitter exchanges claiming that it was part of the rigging plans.

Kakamega county Returning Officer (RO) Joseph Ayata said that the commission’s technical team was working to resolve the issue.
