The incumbent asked his supporters to support the incoming MP as he takes over the office.

 Embakasi West MP George Theuri has lost bid to defend his seat for a third term.

The MP has served the constituency for two terms and was on his third attempt when voters kicked him out.

Though the results of the constituency is yet to be announced, the outgoing MP took to Facebook to concede defeat.

Theuri thanked his supporters for supporting him for the two terms even as he congratulated his opponent

"In every competition, there must be a winner and a loser, that's why I George Theuri concede defeat and peaceful hand over the button to my brother so as for the next 5 years to serve Embakasi west. Congratulations Hon Mark Mureithi Mwenje," Theuri said.

"I want to take this early opportunity to sincerely thank the entire Embakasi west Constituency for giving me an opportunity to serve you for the past 10yrs," Theuri said.

The incumbent asked his supporters to support the incoming MP as he takes over the office and to accord him the necessary respect the office deserves.

Born and raised in Umoja’s Eastland's estate, Theuri was elected as Umoja One councilor in 2007.

In 2013, he become the first Embakasi West MP under The National Alliance party.

Theuri beat ODM’s Brian Weke after garnering 40,606 votes against his 35,333.

In 2017, he was re-elected under the Jubilee Party, beating Tom Agimba of ODM with 47,848 votes, against Agimba's 30,983 votes.

Theuri is one of Deputy President William Ruto's close ally.
