Diana Chepkemoi Receives Scholarship, Job Offers After Saudi Arabia Ordeal

The events that surrounded the life of Diana Chepkemoi during her stay in Saudi Arabia could have been the worst of her life.

Having gone there to eke a living to support her family and even herself, things turned for the worse for the Kenyan girl who found herself in the hands of brutal employer who mistreated her.

In a twist of events, however, Chepkemoi's future is staring at another golden opportunity of pursuing greater prospects and better after a tumultuous period.

Hours after arriving in Kenya from Saudi Arabia, Chepkemoi has been offered full scholarship by the Meru University and also a job.

The student had dropped out of Meru university to look for funds to support her family and relatives.

Nairobi politician Veska Kangogo, on Tuesday, September 6, said the university will also cater for Chepkemoi's accommodation. 

"Special thanks to Meru University who have offered a job, accommodation and a full scholarship to Diana to enable her complete her Bachelor's Degree and live a dignified life," she stated. 

The offer came after the Chepkemoi arrived in Kenya from Saudi Arabia where she had suffered for months.

Images of her sorry state went viral on the social media prompting Kenyans to call for action from relevant authorities.

The calls bore fruit as relevant authorities responded swiftly in pursuing the matter and finally enabling Chepkemoi to land in Kenya safely.
