Several foreign Heads of States have congratulated Ruto for his victory, pledging to work together to strengthen bilateral relations.

Surprisingly, his outgoing boss president Uhuru Kenyatta is yet to congratulate him for his win after the Supreme Court upheld his victory on September 5.

In an interview with CNN on Wednesday, September 7, Ruto said that maybe President Kenyatta was disappointed that his candidate Raila Odinga lost in the election.

"Unfortunately, President Uhuru Kenyatta has not seen it fit to congratulate me but I think that's fine. Maybe he is disillusioned or a bit unhappy that I defeated his candidate but that is the nature of politics," Ruto said.
