President William Ruto is back in the country.
In a live church service shared by State House on Sunday, September 25, the Head of State held a thanksgiving ceremony at State House, Nairobi.
President Ruto was joined by the First Lady Rachel Ruto in the service.
He was also joined by his deputy Rigathi Gachagua, wife of Gachagua Dorcas Rigathi, and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja among other political and religious leaders.
An emotional Ruto was seen wiping tears from his eyes using a handkerchief even as the service went on at State House.

The Head of State has been out of the country for a week after jetting out to attend Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s burial in the UK and the 77th United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States.
President Ruto on Wednesday, September 21, delivered his inaugural speech at the UN General Assembly before holding bilateral talks with several Heads of State.
During his absence, Gachagua has been in charge of the country and before the president returned, he directed the DP to convene a crisis meeting on Monday.
The meeting will entail deliberations on interventions to tame the severe effects of drought that has ravaged most parts of the country.
“My deputy Rigathi Gachagua will, Monday, convene a meeting of GoK involving county leaders/officials to harmonise urgent interventions to stem the severe adverse effects of ravaging drought in almost 20 counties that is putting about 3 million people at great risk," President Ruto said.
