"We must say a Big NO to GMO otherwise we will end up having newborns with 15 fingers," Senator Ledama Ole Kina.

Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina has sensationally claimed that the lifting of the ban on genetically modified foods (GMOs) will have a serious effect on the genetic structure of newborns.

In a tweet on Tuesday, October 11, the lawmaker claimed that the reintroduction of GMOs will result in a generation of newborns with 15 fingers.

Ledama called on President William Ruto to reconsider the lifting of the ban, maintaining that newborns will develop allegiance and resistance to antibiotics.

The lawmaker further claimed that international food corporations will control food security in the country after lifting of the ban.

"The Cargill’s of this world are now in control of our food security in Kenya. We must say a Big NO to GMO otherwise we will end up having newborns with 15 fingers who will develop allegiance and resistant to antibiotics. Toxins in our soil No No No. President William Ruto think again!" Ledama said.

Kalonzo Musyoka.

His remarks come after Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka said that the lifting of the GMO ban will result in serious threats and challenges.

In a statement on Tuesday, Kalonzo said that Kenya's food market will be susceptible to manipulation by profit-hungry multinationals, handing over food sovereignty to corporate manipulators.

He further maintained that it will have a serious effect on people's livelihoods as Kenya lacks adequate capacity to test GMO traits and the impact it has on health.

"Kenya lacks adequate capacity to test for GMO traits and the impact it has on health. We therefore place the lives and livelihoods of our people at very serious risk by admitting GMOs into Kenya," Kalonzo said.
