Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has said that President William Ruto should give Azimio leader Raila Odinga a position in his administration.
In a statement on Tuesday, October 11, after Raila met with a section of MPs at Jeevanjee Gardens in Nairobi, Sonko said that Ruto should offer Raila a job just like he did to former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"Mkutano ya jivanjee Gardens imeisha sasa ni meet the people tour. Mi naona Rais Ruto ataftie huyu mzee kazi kama ndugu yake Uhuru," Sonko stated.
The remarks by the flamboyant politician come after the Head of State hinted at the possibility of giving Raila an offer in his administration.
In an interview with the BBC last month, Ruto said that there are many roles the ODM leader can play if he decides to retire from politics.

"When Raila Odinga decides to retire, and I think there are roles he can play as a Kenyan leader, he can support the country in other initiatives maybe in the Great Lakes Region, he can work with us as an elder statesman, it is not for me to choose," the President said.
The Head of State appointed his former boss as the Peace Envoy to Ethiopia and the Great Lakes region.
However, some of the President's allies have alleged that he could have given the position to Raila after Kenyatta failed to attend the first meeting of the new role.
"H.E Kenyatta has declined Peace envoy role for Ethiopia peace talks. It looks like the role of chairmanship of Azimio-OKA/opposition role is making him very busy. H.E Ruto should swiftly appoint another eminent Kenyan i.e Raila to this role of peace envoy to Ethiopian Peace talks," Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei said.
