Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has toned down from her hard-line stance that saw her embroiled in a stand off with Members of her county assembly.
The governor in a letter dated October 31st has invited members of County Assemblies for a meeting at her official residence to have talks on the issues affecting them. The meeting brings on board the entire elected leadership of the Assembly.
"May I take this opportunity to invite all the Honorable Members of The Meru County Assembly led by Hon. Speaker Ayub Bundi and All Meru Members of The National Assembly led by Their Chair Hon. Mutunga Kanyuithia and Hon Senator Kathuri Murungi (Deputy speaker senate For a Consultative Meeting on 3rd of November 2022 at Meru Governor's official Residence at 9 am," she said.
The move by the governor comes after the ugly side of their standoff reared its head for the better side of last week with both sides remaining adamant on their stand.

Among the issues, Kawira has listed as the cause of their misunderstanding is the ward development fund.
He however says she is ready to discuss with them on the best way forward and how it will be managed.
The governor had said he won't get into any deal with the MCAs if it does not involve paperwork for future referencing.
MCAs had accused Kawira of arrogance and being bullish ever since she took power saying they would not work with her.
They also accused her of appointing relatives to her Government even as they accused her husband of involvement in the county affairs.
