A trailer lost its break on Tuesday morning along the Kisumu-Kakamega highway ramming into 6 vehicles that had slowed down when nearing a police roadblock
The incident lead to a tragic accident that left vehicles severely damaged. The tragedy happened in Hamisi area, Vihiga county.
The accident caused a standoff as residents charged police officers accusing them of causing the accident.
They said the roadblock mounted on the busy highway is to blame for the accident.
Vihiga county police Commander Benjamin Ong'ombe said no casualties were recorded.
" Yes, there has been an accident that occurred at Givole in the Hamisi area where a truck lost control ramming into five private cars and one probox," Ong'ombe confirmed.
"Though up now we have no any casualties but several people have been injured," he added.
