American philanthropist Bill Gates has touched down in Makueni County moments after arriving in Kenya on Tuesday, November 15.
In photos seen by Nairobileo.co.ke, the American billionaire was in the company of Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr and a section of the county officials.
The Microsoft Company founder was seen planting a tree outside the county offices as a smiling Mutula looked on.
Bill Gates is in the country for a series of meetings in several institutions, and Makueni County was his first place to visit.

Nairobileo.co.ke has learnt that he will be visiting farmers in Kathonzweni, Makueni to understand how they are championing climate change and how they are farming using irrigation.
The American billionaire will also be visiting doctors and nurses in primary health clinics and maternity wards in the country. He is also expected to visit KEMRI.
Later in the week, Bill Gates will give a talk to students at the University of Nairobi. The talk will reportedly be held on Thursday and will focus on innovation for Food Security and Climate Change in Africa.
The billionaire is the founder of the Melinda and Gates Foundation, an American private organization that is fighting poverty and disease across the world.
The foundation seeks to improve people's health and offer food security through its commitment in supporting new innovations. Bill Gates last visited Kenya in 2016.
