The world football governing body, FIFA, has lifted the ban imposed on Kenyan football.
In a letter on Monday, November 28, to the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), FIFA stated that the lifting of the suspension came after receiving their letter on the reinstatement of the FKF executive committee.
FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura stated in the letter that a FIFA and CAF delegation shall be deployed in Nairobi to define the next steps for FKF.
Samoura further stated that the FIFA-CAF delegation will meet with the newly appointed Sports Cabinet Secretary, Ababu Namwamba.
"The Bureau of the Council decided on November 25, 2022, to lift the suspension of the FKF with immediate effect. Upon the lifting of the suspension, a FIFA-CAF mission will be deployed to Nairobi in order to define the next steps for the FKF," read part of the letter.

The lifting of the ban comes after Namwamba met with FIFA President Gianni Infantino on Thursday, November 24, in Doha, Qatar.
The Sports CS said that he held fruitful talks with FIFA and CAF after his visit to Qatar.
"Met in Doha today FIFA President Gianni Infantino, General Secretary Fatma Samoura and CAF President Patrice Motsepe. I congratulate Qatar for superbly hosting the world’s most loved sporting event, and commend FIFA for making football truly global," Namwamba tweeted on Thursday.
Kenya had been suspended from world football since February 2022 after the FKF committee was disbanded, a move that made the country miss out on a number of competitions.
