Rubis Energy CEO Jean-Christian Bergeron has been deported from the country over the ongoing fuel crisis.

Mr. Jean-Christian Bergeron is accused of economic sabotage by the Government.

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) said that some oil marketing companies were hoarding fuel and promised stern action against them.

In addition, EPRA noted that the said companies were also diverting some of their loadings to export leaving the local market to suffer intermittent supply.

Four oil marketing companies are facing punitive measures including reducing the capacity that they import into the country.

"EPRA has analysed the daily petroleum loadings over the past four weeks and noted that a number of OMCs have in the period under review given priority to export loadings while the local market was left to suffer intermittent supply," EPRA said in a statement.

Kenyans have been queuing for fuel for long hours and looking for the precious commodity which is not available in all petrol stations.

A section of Kenyans has questioned why fuel supply has not returned to normalcy even after the government announced that it had paid subsidy arrears to oil marketers.
