Lawyer Ndegwa Njiru's big day was graced by eminent people, including politicians from the Kenyan opposition.

Lawyer Ndegwa Njiru has stepped up his journey to solemnising his union with his lover Laureen Ndanu.

The advocate undertook a colourful traditional wedding at the bride's native home in Tala, Machakos county, on Saturday, October 19.

Njiru's big day saw the attendance of eminent Kenyans, among them politicians aligned with the opposition namely; Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Narc Kenya's Martha Karua, DAP-K's Eugene Wamalwa, and Jubilee Party's Jeremiah Kioni.

Other politicians in attendance included senators Enock Wambua (Kitui), Dan Maanzo (Makueni), Agnes Kavindu (Machakos), Matungulu MP Stephen Mule and former Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu.

Being a Kikuyu native, Njiru was undertaking a ruracio, a traditional event characterised by dowry negotiation and payment plans, introduction between the parties, among other rituals aimed at fortifying the imminent marriage.

The couple looked radiant in the company of their best man and woman.

Njiru shone in his brown Ankara outfit, as well as his soon-to-be wife in her gold sekuin dress.

The funfair included energetic dances to Swahili and traditional songs.

Njiru is a renowned legal counsel who has been featured in high-profile quasi-judicial litigations.

Ndegwa Njiru and his fiance were together on their big day in Machakos County.

He came to the limelight in 2020 when he represented the Kirinyaga County Assembly in the Senate, where Governor Anne Waiguru's impeachment was prosecuted in plenary.

Njiru also acted as the lead counsel for former Embu governor Martin Wambora, who was also in the Senate fighting off his impeachment.

His latest assignment is being featured in deposed deputy president Rigathi Gachagua's legal team that strived to challenge the latter's impeachment.
