Chief Administrative Secretary for ICT Dennis Itumbi has come to the aid of Gospel musician Phyllis Mbuthia in helping her recover her YouTube account.
Mbuthia had gone viral on social media after she broke down in tears upon learning that her account with 281,000 subscribers was missing.
Her tears moved Kenyans who took to social media to sympathise with her considering that such a channel is a major source of revenue for many artists and digital content creators.
In a bid to help the artist bounce back to normalcy, Nyandarua senator John Methu Kaba tasked Itumbi with the responsibility of ensuring the YouTube account is back.

"Deleting her Youtube account is one of the most heartless ventures anyone can do for such a blessed servant of God. I will be seeking a statement in the senate Next week on the measures the Ministry of ICT and Digital Economy is taking to combat this dangerous cyber crime including creating awareness on account protection," he wrote on Facebook.
On Wednesday, morning, Itumbi in a social media post announced that the YouTube channel had been restored.
In a message he tagged the Senator the CAS said:
"Ndugu Kaba Methu Senator Nyandarua your assignment is completed. Musician Phylis Mbuthia has her channel back. Channel restored."
Mbuthia also confirmed on Wednesday morning that the YouTube account had been recovered.
She expressed her gratitude to Itumbi and the Senator for standing with her in her hour of need.
Mbuthia went on to suggest that the account was deleted by one of her close friends adding that she will use her experience to sensitize the masses to avoid falling victim.
"At this time exactly 02:05 am Kenyan time, I have recovered my Google Account," she said.
"I know who did it, he has been my friend for a long time. so close that he was 1st to call. I leave him to God coz he destroyed that of my kids too but I was silent for the sake of peace."
