Why UDA Party is Losing Its Glory - Millicent Omanga

Former Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga has made bold revelations about why the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) which catapulted President William Ruto to clinch the country's top seat is sinking.

In a detailed statement, Omanga attributed the dwindling popularity to UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala's decisions.

The vocal legislator accused Malala of failing to execute his mandate but instead diverted all his energies to appointing cronies to fill leadership positions in UDA.

"Allegations against UDA Secretary General Cleo Malalah as appertains incompetence and nepotism in appointments to leadership positions in the ruling party are unfortunate but not surprising. For a man who has been fixated with personal glory and selfish pursuit at the very expense of popularising the party, this was expected," she wrote.

"The party is now losing its glory, members are disenfranchised and displeased thanks to his excruciating incompetence, lack of vision and skulduggery. At present, the SG has elected to litter the management of the party with his personal acquaintances, relatives and hangers-on who contributed absolutely nothing to the growth of UDA party effectively and intentionally abandoning hardworking and dedicated hustlers who watered the rise of UDA with their sweat and sacrifice," Omanga stated.

The allegations against Malala followed the reorganization of the party's Executive Office of the Secretary-General, Office of the Executive Director, Directorate of Elections and ICT and Directorate of Programs and Partnership.

Other changes published by Malala included the Directorate of Finance and Administration, Directorate of Communication, Directorate of Membership, Directorate of Political And Diaspora Affairs, Directorate of Legal and Compliance, and Directorate of Events and Logistics.

However, Omanga protested the appointments insisting they were not balanced.

"ll party members who fought for the party must get their fair share in the management of the party or the chips will fall, and the time is now," the former nominated senator declared.

Omanga's sentiments were supported by EALA MP Falhada Dekow Iman who accused Malala of running UDA like a family business.

"It is evident that my brother and former Senate Colleague Malala is operating outside acceptable norms and must be held accountable. The SG is clearly out of order and must be told so! Regional balance must be a cornerstone, even within the secretariat of the largest party. The current list demands a thorough reevaluation," Iman demanded.
