The anti-finance bill demonstrations resumed on Tuesday, June 25, in many parts of the nation as several Kenyans took to the streets to protest against the Finance Bill 2024.

The protestors are demanding the Finance Bill 2024 be rejected in totality as opposed to amendments.

In Nairobi, protestors had already started gathering at the CBD by 9:00 a.m. with many of them engaging in running battles with police officers who were deployed to contain the protests.

In photos and videos seen by Nairobi Leo, protesters were seen chanting and carrying placards with messages written reject the finance bill.

In one of the videos, police were seen bundling a young male protestor into a police truck after getting hold of him.

"Why are you arresting me? I haven't done anything wrong," the protestor chanted.

In the same video, the police tried to apprehend another young female protestor but her brother stood firm, preventing her arrest.

"I have not done anything. I was just standing and then they came and held us," the female protestor yelled.

Police used tear gas to disperse some of the protestors with many of them raising their arms as a sign of surrender while others ran for their safety.

There was a heavy presence of police on the road leading to State House, with many armored vehicles spotted outside the gates.

The scenes were the same across major cities like Mombasa, Kisumu, and Nakuru where protestors had already hit the streets and many chanting "Ruto must go".
