National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula has ordered House Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah to get in touch with the Police Inspector General over the abduction of Gabriel Oguda.
Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday, June 25, Wetang'ula gave Ichung'wah two hours to report back to him over the situation of Oguda, a policy analyst in National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi's office.
"I will direct the majority leader to get in touch with the IG to find out about the officer and report back to me in the next two hours," Wetang'ula stated.
Speaking on the floor of the house, Wandayi claimed that Oguda at 2:20 a.m. on Tuesday morning and that his whereabouts were still unknown.
The Ugunja MP further asserted that they had looked for the popular political activist in all police stations in Nairobi but was nowhere to be seen.

"Oguda was abducted this morning at 2:20 am. He called me in distress. Up to this moment, we don't know where he is. We have checked all police stations in Nairobi, but he is nowhere to be seen," Wandayi stated.
Kenyans on social media called for the release of Oguda with the hashtag #FreeOguda trending on X in the part of Tuesday morning.
Meanwhile, several prominent social media influencers are reported to have been abducted, including Shadrack Kiprono, popularly known as Shad Khalif, and Osama Otero.
The Law Society of Kenya President Faith Odhiambo condemned the abductions, demanding for their release.
"We condemn the sustained unconstitutionalities and atrocities being perpetrated by the police, and demand the immediate release of Shad. LSK is all hands on deck to find Shad's whereabouts and identify the criminal faction of the police carrying out these abductions," Odhiambo said on Monday.
