Directors of First Choice Recruitment and Consultancy Agency Limited have been barred from registering or operating any recruitment firm in Kenya.
In a statement after appearing before the Senate Committee on Labour and Social Protection on Thursday, October 3, cabinet secretary Alfred Mutua said the firm defied its deregistration and continued operating unlawfully.
The CS added that the firm which is led by Judy Jepchirchir and Faith Waruga Gichuhi is behind a scam that defrauded over 1,000 job seekers.
"Despite being blacklisted and having their registration expired, the agency continues to attempt operations, disregarding the law and the frustrations of affected Kenyans.
"During my presentation to the Senate Committee, I emphasized that the Ministry has published a list of 25 blacklisted agencies, including First Choice, and that the directors are now barred from registering or operating any recruitment firm in Kenya," Mutua said.

First Choice Recruitment and Consultancy Agency Limited is among 26 recruitment agencies which are not registered with the National Employment Authority (NEA).
On Thursday, the Ministry of Labour published a list of recruitment agencies that are not registered with the NEA and warned Kenyans against transacting with them.
In a public notice, Mutua said the agencies are not authorized to conduct recruitment activities for both local and international labour markets.
Additionally, the CS urged job seekers and the general public at large to do due diligence before engaging any recruitment agency.
The flagged agencies include Gulfway Recruitment Company Ltd, Royal Capital Placement Ltd, Geoverah Agency Ltd, First Choice Recruitment and Consultancy Ltd and Daawo Holdings Ltd.
Others are Makungu International Ltd, Talent Getaway Ltd, Royal Capital Placement Ltd, Jakarta Ventures Ltd, Skill Dove Ltd, Gifted Minds Tours Travel Ltd and Tangofox Ltd.
Alemtyaz Travel Agent Ltd, Rhodevo International Ltd, Flexturch Recruitment Ltd, Omran Aly Agencies Ltd, Alsari International Ltd, Leisamis Recruitment Ltd and Skyward Global Dimensions Ltd were also flagged.
Other recruitment agencies not registered with NEA are Kalezon Limited, Abamwe Investments Ltd, Masterminds Ventures Limited, Broadlink Travels Agency Limited, Arshad Agency Limited and Kistamu Agency Limited.
