A man who is accused of stabbing his lover in Nakuru on Thursday, November 21, has surrendered to the police.
In a statement on Monday, November 25, the police disclosed that the suspect, Elias Mutugi Njeru, surrendered at Nakuru Police Station in the company of his lawyer.
Njeru is accused of stabbing Florence Wanjiku Gichohi, his lover and business partner, at their rental house in Nakuru.
"Today 25/11/2024 one Elias Mutugi Njeru male adult and a suspect in the attempted murder case of Florence Wanjiku Gichohi reported at Menengai Police Station, surrendered at Nakuru Police Station in the company of his lawyer Gakuhi Chege and Associates Advocates.
"He has been re-arrested by police and placed in custody while appearing fit, pending collection by Menengai Police Station," police remarked.

On November 22, a report of attempted murder against Wanjiku was made at Kiamunyi Police Post in Nakuru.
The suspect is said to have vanished after the incident which left the victim hospitalized as police called on the suspect to surrender.
"Preliminary investigations establishes that the victim was attacked by her boyfriend Elias Njeru Mutugi, who is also her business associate at Indigenous Land Properties Limited. The incident happened at their rental house in Olive following domestic wrangles.
"She is currently admitted to a hospital in serious condition. This matter is Pending Arrest of a Known Person, with OCS Menengai dealing. Efforts are underway to arrest the suspect. Meanwhile, we call upon the said suspect to present himself at the nearest police station or police officer," police stated on Saturday.
Recounting on the incident, Wanjiku disclosed that personal and business-related matters led to differences between them, which resulted in the stabbing.
She noted that she had asked him to end their affair before Njeru stabbed her, severed her fingers and later ran away.
