Kitui Senator: If ODM is not satisfied with the terms of the handshake, let them quit

A section of leaders drawn from the Wiper and Amani National Congress (ANC) parties have dared ODM party to ditch the handshake and the push for Constitutional amendment if unhappy by the progress so far.

According to ANC National Chairman Kelvin Lunani, ODM is known to be a political bully, adding that some of the complaints made by leaders from the Orange party, especially around involvement of civil servants in the BBI push are not sincere.

“ANC has no interest in driving a wedge between anyone. As a matter of fact, it is ODM’s pursuit of personalising BBI that is the lever for the attempted exclusion of many stakeholders from the process,” he said.

Elsewhere, Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua argued that Kenya is a democratic state and as such, no one is forced to do anything contrary to his/her will. It is on this premise that the senator asked ODM to walk out of the handshake if they feel aggrieved.

“If I invite you to my house, you should not come and start dictating to me how I should cook my food, how I should do my things. If ODM is not satisfied with the terms of the handshake, let them quit,” said Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua while speaking to a congregation at ATG Church in Mlolongo.

Over the weekend, a section of ODM leaders claimed that some government officials are playing politics using the BBI Bill instead of concentrating on the delivery of their constitutional mandates.
