Police have cleared two functions set for Thursday, 14, 2020 that will be attended by Deputy President William Ruto in Nyamira.
In a statement on Tuesday, police gave the go-ahead of the fundraiser for Boda Bodas in Nyamira South but cautioned against any acts of lawlessness.
The letter addressed to West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi also stipulated that the legislator will be held accountable for any disorder.
"As the convener, you will work with police officers to endure that law and order is maintained," the letter stated.
"You will be held responsible for any acts of lawlessness and disorder that may arise," it added.

Event cancelled
Last week, DP Ruto cancelled his Nyamira visit after hours of confrontations between police and the DP’s supporters who had gathered at Kebirigo Primary School.
“After consultations with MPs Kemosi, Mose, Nyamoko, the bodaboda Sacco and church leadership who had invited us, we have postponed the two functions in Nyamira County to Thursday next week,” Dr Ruto announced on Twitter.
A video shared online showed police officers asking members of the public to leave the venue saying the event was unauthorized.
This came amid a backdrop of warnings by Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua against early campaigns which he opined were being used to incite millions of jobless youths.
