The Modern Coast Bus company has released a statement after one of its fleets plunged into a Kisii River.
The bus clarified that no passenger died as a result of the accident.
It further said that all the 43 passengers are alive and those injured had been rushed to hospital where they received treatment.
The company said most of those who were not injured have been put on a different bus and are continuing with their journey.
"Today our bus from Mombasa to Homabay while reversing down a steep Maraam road in Kisii to park down a slope, hit a matatu. As a result, the driver panicked and the bus slid down and fell on its side into a ditch. All 43 passengers in the bus alighted safely and some with minor injuries were taken for treatment whilst others are continuing with their journey with a replacement bus," the company management said.

"Contrary to reports circulating on social media, there were no passenger casualties."
The Wednesday accident came just months after the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) revoked the license of the Modern Coast bus service.
This is after one of its buses plunged into the Nithi Bridge leaving 33 people dead.
As a result, NTSA suspended its licence pending a probe.
"A thorough multi-agency investigation into the crash and an evaluation of the operator's safety operational standards is currently underway," NTSA' said in a statement while suspending its operations.
"We condole with the families of those who lost their loved ones in this tragic crash and wish a quick recovery to those undergoing treatment," the road safety authority added.
It is not clear when the bus was licensed again to operate.
