President William Ruto has urged Kericho members of the County Assembly (MCA) to stop wrangling and serve the electorate.
Speaking in Bomet town on Sunday, January 15, during an interdenominational prayer service, Dr. Ruto called for an end to wrangles being witnessed in Kericho County.
The Head of State mentioned that he was particularly concerned about the bickering among Kericho County MCAs over leadership positions at the expense of service to the people.
“Kericho MCAs must stop the nonsense. shame on you. The people of Kenya voted for us to implement development projects and not to fight over positions,” the President said.

He added, "We have a contract as leaders to serve the people who discharged their duty to elect us. We should not waste time wrangling over positions."
At the same time, President Ruto asked the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to conduct recruitment of Teachers transparently.
The Head of State was accompanied by his deputy Rigathi Gachagua, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, and Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot. Others were Governors Hillary Barchok (Bomet), Eric Mutai (Kericho) and several MPs.
Speaking at the same event, Mr Gachagua put on notice cartels in the milk, tea, and coffee sectors, saying their days are numbered.
"We will deal decisively with cartels and brokers of milk, coffee and tea. We will not spare individuals who have made lives of farmers miserable, " Mr Gachagua affirmed.
