Nominated MP Sabina Chege has divulged that President William Ruto's camp approached her to quit Azimio and deputise Johnson Sakaja in the Nairobi Gubernatorial race.
In an interview with Inooro TV on Sunday, Sabina said she could not take up the role because she was deeply rooted in the Azimio la Umoja and because she also respected Former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
" I was approached by the Kenya Kwanza camp to deputise Sakaja in the Nairobi Governor Race. But I refused because of my respect for Uhuru," Sabina disclosed.
Sabina was one of the few ardent footsoldiers of Uhuru in the Mt Kenya region. He stuck with him in campaigning for ODM leader Raila Odinga and even raised close to a million votes.

The MP, however, and the other 31 Jubilee MPs have shifted camp.
The MPs have pledged to work with the Ruto government and have simultaneously said they would not be part of Raila's protests.
Already, the party has kickstarted the process of exiting Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance to join the Ruto camp.
Embattled Jubilee Party officials like Jeremiah Kioni and Vice Chair David Murathe are facing ousters from the party owing to their allegiance to Azimio, a position the MPs have departed.
The officials are still in the party thanks to a political [arties dispute tribunal that stayed NEC's decision to replace the two.
This comes after the Registrar of Political Parties ratified the leadership changes that saw EALA MP Kanini Kega appointed party acting secretary general.
