Shock has gripped residents of Nyamoko village in Kitutu Masaba constituency in Nyamira county after a husband and wife were hacked to death.
The couple's lifeless bodies were found in their palatial home on Tuesday, March 21.
A 63-year-old Edward Morema Nyagaechi was found dead in his garage with his head having deep cuts.
His hands and legs were tied with binding wire.
His wife Grace Morema, aged 60, was equally found tied in a similar manner in their bedroom with deep cuts around her neck.

Masaba North Deputy Police commander Robert Ndambiri confirmed the incident saying the couple could have undergone torture before they were murdered.
"It seems the criminals first captured them, tied their hands then later gagged their mouths so that they could not scream for help. We think they died as a result of excessive bleeding," he said
He said as the probe continues, a maid and farm worker are being held in connection to the murder.
They believe the two would provide key information needed to crack the two murder cases.
The bodies of the couple have been moved to Kisiii Referral Hospital awaiting postmortem.
