Former president Uhuru Kenyatta was on Sunday, April 9, spotted among the faithful of St Francis Catholic Church in Nyali, Mombasa County.
The former head of state is said to have attended the service with his family.
He amazed the congregation as he seemed to have shunned the VIP area to sit amongst them.
Uhuru would then line up for the Holy sacrament administered by the chief cleric.
This would be his first public appearance a couple of weeks after goons invaded the Northlands farm in Kiambu county owned by his family.

In the farm, the invaders cut down trees, vandalised property, and made away with hundreds of livestock; they would later set the farm on fire.
Despite the invasion, the family remained mum on the matter, with Opposition leader Raila Odinga condemning the act of hooliganism on their behalf.
Since giving up office to President William Ruto, Uhuru resorted to a low-key profile, only showing up for international duties.
His last assignment was in February this year when he stewarded a group of African Union observers during the General Election in Nigeria.
Last year, he was part of the mediation team that occasioned a ceasefire between Ethiopia and the Tigray People Liberation Front (TPLF) after years of tension and fights.
Uhuru also had a role in calming the situation in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) where M23 rebels were wreaking havoc.
Despite being a target of grave accusations by operatives in the Kenya Kwanza government, Uhuru has managed to keep his calm.
His family was initially accused of evading tax; he was later accused of bankrolling the anti-government mass action protests called by Raila.
