Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni has been forced to isolate after testing positive for Covid-19.
The long-serving President said he has delegated his roles to Prime Minister Robinah Nabanjja even as he recovers in isolation.
In a statement, on Thursday, Museveni said this was the second time he was taking leave in 53 years.
"I have, therefore, got the second forced leave in the last 53 years, ever since 1971, when we started fighting Idi Amin. One other time, was when I had a problem with sinuses and I had to lie low for some days at Mweya," he said.
"I have therefore, self-isolated at Nakasero and I have delegated my work for today and tomorrow (Heroes’ Day in Luwero) to Prime Minister, Robinah Nabanjja."

Museveni assured his citizens that he is in stable condition.
"However, I always prefer to err on the side of caution and self-isolate for now."
Museveni was tested for Covid-19 on Wednesday.
While delivering the State of the Nation Address, Museveni said he had shown symptoms of Corona Virus, prompting the test.
"This morning, I was feeling as if I had a cold. I took a rapid Coronavirus test which indicated negative. However, my samples were taken for a deeper analysis. One was negative and the other positive," he said, according to the Daily Monitor.
"So, I am a suspect of Corona as I speak. That's why I came in a separate car with Maama."
