President William Ruto has issued a stern warning to county and national government officials who are prone to corruption.
Speaking on Wednesday, August 16 during the opening of the Devolution Conference in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, President Ruto said the government will treat corruption as a high-priority law enforcement issue.
He directed state agencies to move with speed and deal with rampant corruption cases reported in counties.
“We shall treat corruption at all levels of government as a high-priority law enforcement issue requiring an expeditious and decisive response. Regardless of positions of office or status, any person implicated in the loss of public funds whether in the national or devolved government must encounter the punitive consequences of their action in full,” said President Ruto.
He added, "I expect the agencies concerned to move with speed and attend to the many cases of corruption that are festering in counties including Uasin Gishu.”
