Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiangi is set to declare Kapedo a Special Security Zone.
The CS is also set to issue a Gazette Notice imposing a dusk-to-dawn curfew from 6 pm-6 am in a bid to flush out bandits who have been terrorizing communities in Baringo and Turkana counties.
This is after the bandit fighting which left General Service Unit (GSU) Operation Commander Emadau Tebakol and Chief Inspector of Police in charge of Rapid Redeployment Unit (RDU) dead.
A senior Teachers Service Commission officer and five other people were killed and their bodies dumped at Kiserian in Baringo South Sub County where bandits had raided a village.

After the brutal deaths, Kenya Union Post Primary Education Teachers (Kuppet) gave the government a seven-day ultimatum to address the insecurity in Kapedo failure to which they will withdraw their members.
“The area is dangerous, people are in possession of illegal firearms, which they have been using in terrorizing residents and even killing our officers. So it is not clear who killed the six,” Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya said.
Police records show that since 2014, more than 40 people, including 23 security men, have been killed, many injured and thousands of animals stolen by bandits in Kapedo.
Most murders go unresolved, though, so the chance of finding the latest killers of the security personnel or the six civilians seem remote.
