Former President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday, February 7, met President Yoweri Museveni in Uganda.
In an update on X, formerly Twitter, Uhuru Kenyatta, and President Museveni discussed matters of regional peace and security.
"The Facilitator of the EAC-led Nairobi Peace Process, H.E President (Rtd) Uhuru Kenyatta today paid a courtesy call to Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda to discuss matters on regional peace and security,'' a statement on Kenyatta's X account read.
President Museveni noted that the two discussed the recent developments in the Eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

"This afternoon at State House Entebbe, I met with the Facilitator of the EAC-led Nairobi Peace Process, H.E. President (Rtd) Uhuru Kenyatta to discuss the regional mandate alongside recent developments in Eastern DRC," Museveni said via X.
The conflict between armed forces and the M23 rebels has intensified in recent weeks with the latter advancing towards the eastern city of Goma.
Reports indicate that six people were killed and several injured in DRC's Masisi territory on Wednesday.
