Samson Cherargei has accused Governor Stephen Sang of running down the hospital and other medical facilities in the county.

Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has exposed the poor conditions of Kapsabet County Referral Hospital (KCRH) after an impromptu visit.

In an update on Monday, December 2, the Senator accused Governor Stephen Sang of running down the county's hospital and other medical facilities.

Following his assessment of Kapsabet Hospital, Cherargei said it lacked gloves and syringes, adding that patients were asked to buy drugs at private pharmacies.

Additionally, the Senator said the hospital's hygiene was poor with wards emitting a foul smell.

"Kapsabet hospital doesn't have even gloves, syringes, and no drugs, patients are referred to buy in private pharmacies," the Senator alleged.

Cherargei also claimed that the hospital is understaffed, adding that the wards are congested with patients sleeping on dilapidated bedding and along the corridors.

As such, the Senator has called for Sang's Impeachment, adding that he would be requesting the Senate Health Committee to visit the hospital.

"Governor Sang should be impeached for poor development, governance, and human rights abuses especially access to health.

"Secondly, I shall be requesting the Senate Health Committee to visit Kapsabet County Referral Hospital and make appropriate recommendations," he said.
