Public Service CS Justin Muturi has raised concern over the emergence of a letter announcing his resignation from President William Ruto's Cabinet.
In a statement dated Thursday, March 13, Muturi clarified that the letter was fake and was not authored by him.
He expressed that the letter, which emerged after his interview on Citizen TV, was meant to mislead Kenyans.
Therefore, he called on Kenyans to disregard the letter, reiterating his commitment to continue with his role as a CS.

"It has come to my attention that a fraudulent letter is circulating, falsely claiming that I have resigned as the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service and Human Capital Development. I categorically state that this letter is fake and should be disregarded," read the statement in part.
"I remain fully committed to serving the people of Kenya in my capacity as Cabinet Secretary, working to strengthen our public service and enhance human capital development. Let us all be vigilant against misinformation intended to mislead the public."
Muturi has been a vocal critic of the government in recent months following the surge of abductions.
Using the experience of his son, Muturi has been calling on Ruto to form a commission of inquiry to investigate the recent abductions.
Notably, he has also been missing from Cabinet meetings, citing his stance on abductions.
“In my case, I have written and sought to be excused from Cabinet meetings unless the agenda of abductions and extrajudicial killings is formally tabled before Cabinet, through a Cabinet memorandum, so that the Cabinet is able to express itself and give the country the way forward with regards to abductions and extrajudicial killings. So, I sought to be excused for these reasons,” he stated during the TV interview.
