New details have emerged on the fatal accident that saw a foreigner killed after being hit by a vehicle in President William Ruto's motorcade along Ngong Road on Thursday, March 13. 

According to a report by BBC, the foreigner was a British national who had come to visit his relatives in Kenya.

Police detailed that the family of Edgar Charles Frederick had been informed of the incident with investigations ongoing to establish what happened.

The UK High Commission in Kenya was also made aware of the accident.

Meanwhile, Police Spokesperson Michael Muchiri revealed to the international media house that the 79-year-old was hit by a vehicle belonging to the regional administration.

According to Muchiri, the vehicle was among the vehicles that were providing support during Ruto's visit to Kibra.

The official added that the police would pursue the driver even as it emerged that the vehicle did not stop after the incident.

Following the incident, the police had called on Kenyans who witnessed the incident to reach out to the authorities for investigation purposes.
