His itinerary includes commissioning completed projects, inspecting ongoing ones, and launching new initiatives.

Notably, the visit which officially kicks off on Tuesday, April 1, marks the President’s first extensive engagement in the region since the impeachment of his former deputy, Rigathi Gachagua.

Speaking in Naivasha on Saturday, March 29, Gachagua advised locals to accept any money offered but warned against taking it home.

He claimed that the money is cursed, and suggested using the funds to settle debts or spend them immediately in the market.

"Don't worry. Get ready, money is coming in bags. Take it, but don't go home with it; it is cursed. Eat that money at the market. Do not mix it with the money you already have. If you have a loan with a shylock, use that money to pay it off," he said.

Gachagua's onslaught on Ruto continued on Monday, March 31, when he warned him against taking credit for development projects in the Mt. Kenya region during his developmental tour.

Speaking in Wangige, Kiambu County, the former DP claimed that all projects in the region were initiated by former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He dismissed Ruto's visit as a political gimmick, urging the president to be truthful about the status of projects in Mt. Kenya.

"You heard that the president is coming to Mt. Kenya, but he is coming to lie. I want to tell William Ruto that during your visit here, be truthful.

"All projects in the Mt. Kenya region are those that were started by former President Uhuru Kenyatta and none have been started by Ruto. The projects in the region were all started by Uhuru and you refused to complete them," he said.
