President William Ruto has announced the gazettement of the establishment of Nyandarua University.
Speaking in Ol Kalou on Thursday, April 3, Ruto said the university is set to begin operations in September this year.
He disclosed that the decision to establish the university came after leaders from the county petitioned his office.
"You had requested that just like other counties which have universities, you want to have your own university. Myself together with your leaders. On Friday, I authorized the establishment of the Nyandarua University, and this has been gazetted.
"You will now have a university in this county from September and students will be formally accepted by then. This came after your leaders approached me on the same," he said.
