National carrier Kenya Airways (KQ) has named its newest Boeing 737 after Caroline Ndonga.
In a statement on Thursday, May 1, KQ said Ndonga serves as the airline’s station manager in Burundi.
The airline celebrated Ndonga, praising her as a symbol of resilience, a guardian of safety, and a beacon of unwavering leadership.

“Today, her name soars on the side of our newest B737, honoring a woman who keeps us grounded while helping us fly higher. Because some names deserve the skies,” KQ stated.
This comes days after the airline hinted that it has named its new plane after someone special.
“We have named our newest 737 after someone special… any guesses?” KQ stated on Tuesday April 29.
Ndonga has worked in KQ since 2005 where she started as a flight dispatcher. In 2009, she moved to be a load controller a position she served until 2012.
She transitioned to become the supervisor of operations in Kisumu County before moving to become the airline’s station manager in Burundi, a position she holds to date.
Ndonga boasts a Bachelor of Science in Horticultural Science and a master of Business Administration (MBA), Strategic management.
