The Ministry of Tourism has announced the introduction of express lanes at the Nairobi National Park following the long queues witnessed at the gate over the weekend.

In a statement dated Monday, May 19, CS Rebecca Miano stated that the gates will be used by those who use the prepaid ticket services.

"Your enthusiasm for Kenya’s natural treasures inspires us, and we’re thrilled to see so many of you embracing our prepaid ticketing system- over 60% of visitors on Sunday used this convenient option," Miano stated.

"This is a step forward in our shared journey toward smarter, faster, and more enjoyable park access. If you haven’t yet tried it, we invite you to purchase your tickets in advance via the eCitizen platform at http://kws.ecitizen.go.ke for a smoother entry."

Additionally, she detailed that the ministry was operationalising other gates at the park to ensure that there are more access points for tourists.

The two gates include East Gate (off Mombasa Road) and Mbagathi Gate (Magadi Road, opposite Multimedia University).

Equally, the government is considering the introduction of a new gate along the Southern Bypass.

"These enhancements are part of our commitment to creating a world-class experience for you while preserving the park’s incredible wildlife. Together, we’re building a future where every visit is not just a trip, but an unforgettable adventure," the CS added.
