In a statement on Tuesday, June 10, Governor Barasa remembered Amwoga as an exemplary civil servant whose death has left a big gap in the Kakamega County administration.
The Kakamega Governor extended his condolences to Amwoga’s family and pledged to offer them support during the difficult time.
“I mourn Ms. Doreen Amwoga as a consummate civil servant who worked diligently and exhibited exemplary loyalty to the Government. As one of the longest-serving members of staff at a very senior level, she supported her colleagues to understand their brief in public service. Her helpfulness and her responsiveness will be sorely missed. Her death, coming after a very short illness, has not only shocked us, but has also left a big gap in my administration,” said Barasa.
He added, “On behalf of my family, the County Government, and the people of Kakamega, I extend my sincere condolences to Ms. Amwoga’s family. As a Government, we assure the family of our support through this very difficult moment.”
